Yosemite’s grandest attraction, the magnificent El Capitan lends its name to this crowd pleasing blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, and Carignane. Like it’s famous namesake, this wine is gorgeous no matter where you’re standing, your friends will be impressed, and everyone likes it.
Inspired by the “Apothecia”, a mysterious place where wine was blended and stored in 13th century Europe, Apothic Red offers a truly unique wine experience. This is a blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, and Merlot. It’s hardy and strong through the mid-palette with a smooth fruity finish.
Fasi Crest is owned by a Swiss family, making wine under the heraldic crest of their European forebears. This tiny estate maintains crop yields under 5 tons an acre, creating a rich and powerful wines with a nose of berries and hints of plum, and flavors of black cherry, plum, spice, and white pepper in the mid palate. This is a certified organic wine and is also a vegan wine.
The Gravel Pit Vineyard is located on the banks of the San Joaquin River. The soil in this abandoned gravel pit lends itself to the terrain of this unique growing location. The stress of these growing conditions results in a grape with concentrated Syrah characters.
Although there is debate over the name of Syrah or Shiraz grape, they are, in fact, the same varietal. This product style produces an intense, deep, red wine. To develop this characteristic, they have added 10% Tannat, creating a firm tannic structure and that gives the wine the ability to age well.
Inky purple color, aromas of blueberry cobbler, fresh figs, and black raspberry jump from the glass of Petite Sirah. This blend would be fine on its own as a fireside sipper. Pair with Korean Short Ribs, Captain Crunch coated fried chicken with mashed sweet potatoes and cornbread, or Sweet Sausage Pizza with Caramelized fennel and ricotta cheese.
